Alice Gail Laird's Obituary
Alice Gail Laird, at the age of 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026. She was born on December 3, 1947, in Alexandria, Louisiana.
She is survived by her children, Richard J. Laird Jr. (Terri) and Jana Laird Pond (Kevin); grandchildren, Miles Pond (fiancé Brooklyn), Matthew Pond, Joleigh Pond, and Kylie Clement (Dylan); and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Hugh Taylor and Clara Marion; a host of nieces and nephews, and wonderful lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Richard J. Laird; her parents, Francis Harbin Taylor and Clara Huffman Taylor; and her siblings, Linda Guidry, Doris Taylor, Donald Taylor, Cleveland Taylor.
Also known as Mama Gail, Granny Gail, and Aunt Gail - Gail was beloved by her family and community alike. A lifelong resident of Folsom, Louisiana, Gail was an employee of the St. Tammany Parish School System and a devout member of Red Bluff Baptist Church. She loved cooking and teaching others how to cook and will be remembered for her famous family recipes. She loved her family deeply, and her memory will be carried on for generations to come.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Red Bluff Baptist Church, 15204 LA-1078, Folsom, LA 70437 on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 10:00AM until service time. Interment will take place following the service at Allison Cemetery, 77075 Sharp Road, Folsom, LA 70437.
