Alice Pivert Hughes was taken to her eternal home in Heaven on Friday, Sept. 14, 2007 after a lengthy illness.
Prior to Hurricane Katrina she owned and operated My Fair Lady Beauty Salon in Chalmette.
Beloved wife of Joseph W. Hughes, Sr. for 65 years. Mother of Richard M. Hughes and wife Phyllis DeVun Hughes of Mandeville, LA. Grandmother of Rachael Estopinal, Hollie Richard and Ashley Melerine. Great-grandmother of James, Jr., Nathan, Ashtyn and Falyn La?Œren. Sister of June Duffour, Doris Antoine and Oliver Pivert, Jr. Daughter of the late Irene A. Holland and Oliver Pivert, Sr. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Aged 82 years, a native of New Orleans, LA, a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA and a resident of Mandeville, LA for the past 2 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at 3:00 PM from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Thursday from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
