Alice Richardson Grinnell's Obituary
Alice Richardson Grinnell passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2009 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 23, 1937 to Agnes Gladys Rayburn Richardson and Griffin “Mac” Richardson. Beloved wife of Melvin J. Grinnell for 47 years; loving mother of Barry F. Grinnell, Don E. Grinnell and Terri Grinnell Fogarty; loving mother-in-law to Lora L. Grinnell, Barb B. Grinnell and Richard M. Fogarty; devoted grandmother to Barry, Braden and Brant Grinnell; Grayson Grinnell; and Reese and Reagan Fogarty. She was preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Parker Bossier; and her brother, Clyde Hoyt Richardson.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Mandeville, LA, graduating from Mandeville High School in 1955. She retired from the St. Tammany Parish School Board where she was secretary of Mandeville Middle School for 25 years, prior to that she served as executive assistant to the Superintendent at Southeast Louisiana Hospital in Mandeville.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Mandeville, 1895 Highway 190, Mandeville, LA 70448.
Visitation AT THE CHURCH will begin at 9:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in her memory to Mandeville Middle School, 2525 Soult Street, Mandeville, LA 70448.
Interment will follow in the Mandeville City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to E.J. Fielding Funeral Home of Covington.
