Gordon was 1 of my mentors when I hired into Exxon in 1984 as a new hire geophysicist. He was a good mentor and I was able to learn much from him. I have fond memories of Gordon and his willingness to teach. Rest In Peace Gordon!

Gordon was truly one of a kind, a true mentor to all us "boomer" geoscientists working for Exxon in New Orleans in the early 1980's. He was generous and helpful to all, always had a smile, and was regarded for his competency and attention to detail. Rest in peace Gordon.
So sorry to hear about the loss of Gordon. Both he and Nancy were such supportive friends to Bob & Betty Owens. Dad & Gordon were intertwined with their mutual love of big band jazz, having played in several bands together. It was so gratifying to have seen Gordon and Nancy at Dad's memorial service in New Orleans back in 2009. Our thoughts and prayers to all the Bauer clan!
