Alberta Peterson Sharpe's Obituary
Alberta Peterson Sharpe, beloved wife of 64 years to the late, Edward Sharpe passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023. Loving mother of Don Sharpe and Madonna Covington (Michael). Daughter of the late Katie Purchner Peterson and Peter Peterson, Sr. Sister of the late Peter Peterson, Jr., Urbin Peterson, Mary Cairo , Raymond Peterson, Huey Peterson and Anthony Peterson. Grandmother of Kristin Bedard (Brock) and Brooke Brock (the late Rory). Great-grandmother of Jackson Laudun, Ryker Brock, Miles Bedard and Stella Bedard.
Mrs. Sharpe was a native of New Orleans, a resident of St. Bernard and then Prairieville after Hurricane Katrina. Alberta loved music and was a member of the church choir where she sang solos and played the accordion at nursing homes as a personal ministry. She loved spending time with her family, cooking and gardening.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, December 16, 2023 beginning at 12:00 noon followed by a service in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Barker McManus Cemetery immediately following the service.
