Alan "Ace" Clarence Truehart's Obituary
Alan “Ace” Clarence Truehart, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 29, 2023, at his home in Mandeville, Louisiana. Alan was born on March 6, 1938, in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia Couchon Truehart, his children Donna Truehart Drake (Tom), Paul Alan Truehart (Sarah), and David Alan Truehart (Leanne), and his grandchildren Amanda Dodson (Brad), Nicole Marshall, Dominic Truehart (Savannah), and Matthew Truehart. He also leaves 3 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Parker, and Cole Dodson. He was preceded in death by his parents Eleanor Mutter Truehart and Clarence William Truehart and his sister Maryalis Truehart Stevenson.
Alan retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service, including as a submariner on the USS Croaker SSK-246 and USS Scorpion SSN-589. Alan loved coaching and playing all sports, mainly basketball and bowling. In his later years he became a passionate fantasy football player. He was especially dedicated to the many pets he owned and loved over the years. He was never reluctant to share his advice or opinions and will be dearly missed by all who deeply loved him.
The family wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Keith Langevin and Lori Meynard who provided exceptional end-of-life care.
