So sorry to hear of the passing of Ms. Aileen. She was one of the last of the "old Abita families" still around. What a long and beautiful life she had. I grew up on Talisheek Road along with the Ledbetter, McIntyre, and Hanson and Keen families. I have such fond memories of her and Mr. Pete. She was always so sweet and caring to all of us. My brother "Johnny" thought the world of her. My condolences to her family and I hope you find comfort in knowing that Ms. Aileen will be graciously remembered.

I have very fond memories of walking from the school bus every afternoon with Aileen, and her brother, Gabe, whose family was our nearest neighbor out in the country between Onville and Ramsay, LA. She was always friendly, smiling, kind, and her sharp intellect was obvious. All of you have holes in your hearts which she filled, and your memories of her will be painful, but sweet.

I loved her parents and siblings, too, and consider her passing to be kind of the end of an era of pleasant Core-McKee-Faucheux relationships. I am so looking forward to uniting with Aileen and all of them again in Heaven. May our precious Holy Spirit comfort all of you who loved her.

Aileen was my mom's baby sister, after mom's passing she was like a second mother to me. A good friend, as well as Aunt Leen. She will be greatley missed. I know she is in heaven with her beloved "Pete" and son Wade.
