Agustin Domingo Ajubita's Obituary
Agustin Domingo Ajubita passed away on Friday, April 17, 2009. He was born May 9, 1914 in Marquina, Spain to the late Domingo and Matilda Aspiazu Ajubita and has been a resident of Covington since 1970.
The beloved husband of the late, Erin Fuge Ajubita; he is survived by his brother, Captain Adolph M. Ajubita and one sister, Maria L. Franklin. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Joseph M. and Alfonso M. Ajubita and one sister, Beatriz M. Whited.
Mr. Ajubita lived most his life in New Orleans under the employment of The United Fruit Co. as a Ship Master. He also served the U.S. Merchant Marines in this capacity during WW II and holds the rank of Commander with the U.S. Maritime Service. He was Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus, a dedicated parishioner of St. Anselm Catholic Church and was instrumental in establishing the Weldon Wallace Poole Volunteer Fire Deptartment on Highway 21.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours will begin Wednesday at 9:30 AM.
Interment will follow mass at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andelm Catholic Church Building Fund, 307 St. Mary St., Madisonville, LA 70447.
