Adam "Addie" Naquin Jr.'s Obituary
Adam E. "Addie" Naquin, Jr. passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 in Covington, Louisiana surrounded by his family. Adam was born March 10, 1930 in New Orleans, LA, a descendant of prominent French Louisiana families. In his younger years, Adam enjoyed his Carrollton neighborhood paper route, and attended S.J. Peters, where he was active in student government, and sports. He was the football quarterback, track team star, and second baseman for the baseball team, earning the nickname, "Triple-play Adam." After graduation, he served in Korea (1951-1953) as an artillery sergeant based at Incheon Harbor. Upon returning home, he worked for Dixie Printing for many years, until opening Naquin Printing in the early 1990s. He enjoyed decades in the WeDK social club, the Shoulder to Shoulder club, and Elks Krewe of Orleans . He was the husband of 66 years to the late Enola Spindel Naquin. He is survived by three children: Debra N. Olson (Ken), David G. Naquin (Deborah), and Dee N. Simoneaux (Todd); Sister, Pearl N. Kingston; grandchildren: Jennifer O. Grilletta (Sean), Timothy J. Olson (Lauren), Gerard M. Naquin (Lori), Olivia A. Simoneaux, Mary S. Egan (Patrick), Rose A. Simoneaux, Lauren E. Naquin, Ethan M. Naquin, and Elizabeth "Bess" A. Simoneaux; great-grandchildren: Addison "Addie", Shelby, Sebastian, Gage, Aria, Finnan, and Margaret "Mae." He is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Marie Pearl Clement Naquin, beloved stepmother, Eloise B. Naquin; Brother, Roland Naquin; treasured daughter, Adrienne Marie, and grandson Jeffrey Michael. He served his country, his family, and God. The family extends warm gratitude to Egan Home Health, and to caretakers, Richard, Kim, and Brittney.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:00 AM with visitation at church on Saturday beginning at 9:30 AM.
Interment in Metairie Cemetery will be at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Naquin be made to St. Jude, and Paralyzed Veterans of America.
