Abra Ruth Murray's Obituary
Abra Ruth Murray passed away after a sudden illness on January 8, 2020. She was born on August 27, 1982.
Abra is survived by her mother Catherine Willetts Murray, MD; her step-father Will Murray; her sister Rachel Murray; her half brothers and sisters Ian Murray, Garen Murray, Eden Murray, and Colin Murray; and her step-brother Jake Murray and step-sister Emily Wielgosz (Stanley).
Abra is preceded in death by her father Elwood Murray.
Abra was raised in Mandeville, LA and attended Mandeville High School. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California. After attending USC, she studied at the Johns Hopkins-Nanjing Center in Nanjing, China. She then earned her Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School. Abra was fluent in Mandarin and practiced international corporate law in Beijing, China for 10 years. She traveled extensively during that time. In 2018, she returned to her beloved New Orleans and was employed by the Jones Walker Law Firm. She leaves behind many friends around the world, and will greatly missed by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 17, 2020 at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Rd, St Benedict, LA 70457. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, Saint Benedict, LA.
