Aaron Sean Dietrich's Obituary
Aaron Dietrich, of Abita Springs, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the age of 35. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, and teacher to many.
Aaron was born in Denver, Colorado on February 15, 1983. His family moved to multiple places around the country before settling in Ithaca, New York, where he grew up and eventually met the love of his life, Ashleigh. They married in 2007, and chose to move to Louisiana, where they both were hired as teachers for St. Tammany Parish Schools. Aaron and Ashleigh were blessed with two beautiful children, Eli and Willow, who were the center of Aaron’s universe.
He is survived by: his loving wife, Ashleigh Babcock Dietrich, beloved children: Eli and Willow Dietrich, mother: Alison Fertman Taren, father: Scott Hawks (Anne-Lise Lucas), two sisters: Kira Dietrich Connors (Kevin) and Shoshana Dietrich (Todd Snyder), one brother: Ari Dietrich, maternal grandfather: Shelden Fertman, paternal grandparents: Bill and Minta Dietrich, nephew: Brendan Connors, niece: Caitlin Connors, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Michael and Laura Babcock, brother-in-law: Josh Babcock (Nikki), aunts: Kathy Fertman Ash (Erin) and Carol Dietrich Fox (Jay), uncle: Jay Fertman (Lisa), and an amazing circle of close friends.
Aaron is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Roberta Fertman, and his childhood best friend, Ian Alberta.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM with visitation on Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Dietrich to be made to Northshore Humane Society, www.northshorehumane.org/donate, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate.
