We had such wonderful days @ Tenneco, it hardly seemed like we were working. Bill was my first boss out there & we all loved him. My second day I was scarred to death to enter a vessel on the Hydrogen Plant but Bill settled me down & got it done. They could have run me off, but I managed to stay 35 years thanks to Bill. Seems like only yesterday, so many memories. I am deeply saddened by his passing. Paul Devenport
Our hearts ache with all of you. We have many wonderful memories of happy times spent with Bill over the years. He was always kind, gracious, fun and a true Southern gentleman. When he was at Oak Island with us, he put a white towel over his arm and said this is how you do it and served wine to Patty and her giggling nursing classmates. They too treasure his memory. The Maria congregation and prayer chains felt as if they knew Bill personally through his kind notes sent to them. We are so very sorry we are unable to be there with you today,but we are with you in spirit and hearts full of love.

Billy "Uncle Bill" had a kind & caring spirit that made all feel at home around him. He always acknowledged you with that great smile & a heartfelt hug. He was a genuinely loving man. We feel it a blessing to have had the privilege to share his friendship. Billy, we know God welcomed you into his paradise with the same warm hug you shared with so many of us. It was some eight or nine years ago that the good lord blessed my family by allowing my father the privelege of becoming neighbors with Uncle Bill and and Ms.Peggy . Through the years I too have been blessed and fortunate enough to have established a close friendship with uncle bill while helping him with his landscape work . Uncle bill become a mentor to me and it's because of his positive encouragement and him believing in me when I was struggling and battling the disease of addiction that I am clean today and recently promoted to assistant field foreman in the oil field .. Uncle bill u believed in me and helped me get my confidence and self worth back and I will always hold u in a special place in my heart till we meet again ..
