The passing of Jan Duris brings to a sad conclusion a very long friendship which began in Melbourne, Australia in 1961 and continued to this day. Jan was an engineer with Esso Research and Engineering Company, as was my husband Don, both on the same foreign assignment. Jan and Helen's permanent home was in Perth Amboy, NJ; however, after returning from their next assignment in Japan, they expressed a desire to move to this area. A house on the block next to ours came onto the market, and they bought it. So we became neighbors. We spent every New Year's Eve together even after they relocated to Mendham, NJ, were present at all of the children's weddings, and shared many happy memories in between. We taught them to play bridge while in Australia, and played countless games over the years. Our children became friends. We laughed a lot together, but also supported each other through rough times. Our interactions through births and deaths, ceremonies and travels were too numerous to mention here. If anyone would like us to share some memories, please don't hesitate to be in touch. We are also sharing in your grief at this time.
God bless all of you;
Don and Nancy Kiddoo, New Jersey
