I wanted to express my sympathy for your loss, and I wanted to tell you that Dr. Banks saved my mother's life about ten years ago. Luckily for us, he happened to be in the hospital the afternoon my mom had a heart attack. He was a wonderful and caring doctor and my mom thought highly of him. A few years after my mom's death, my husband needed to see a cardiologist and there was only one I trusted - Dr. Banks. He will be missed and I hope this shared memory of him will ease a little of the pain.God bless your family in this difficult time.

Dr. Banks saved not only my life through his cardiac care, but also my husband's life when two weeks after Katrina he underwent an emergency surgery on his carotid artery and a quadruple bypass. I trusted Dr. Banks with my heart and my husband, as well. He will be missed. God bless you and your family, Robin. We are terribly sorry for this tragic loss.

I met Dr. Banks many years ago when he was still with OSCHNER'S clinic. My Dad's cardiologist had told him that there was nothing more he could do for him. I asked our family doctor, Marc Pittman what we should do. He said there was only one person to see, Dr. Banks. Dr. Banks has since saved Dad several times over and would constantly adjust his meds according to the latest protocol. He always took time with us, never seemed to rush through our visits and asked rather than told us about new meds or procedures he would like us to try. In the waiting room, we would often hear of stories where Dr. Banks saved other patients. There was one belief held by most everyone we met there, it was "I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Dr. Banks". Thanks to Dr. Banks family for sharing him with all of us patients and their families and giving us more time with our loved ones. For that we can never repay all of you. Thanks to Dr. Banks parents for raising him and leading him to become such a blessing to so many. May knowing how many people he helped be of some consolation to you at this time. We miss him also, God must have heart problems and called him for help.
