William Randall O'Rourke, Jr.'s Obituary
William Randall O’Rourke, Jr. passed away on December 27, 2009 at the age of 72.
He was the beloved husband of Cynthia Treitler O’Rourke for 47 years; father to Bryan, Glenn, and Jeannine; grandfather to William, Nate, Mason, Madison, Shawn and Margaux; and brother to Patrick Tim O’Rourke.
Bill was born and raised in New Orleans, graduated from De La Salle High School, the United States Air Force Academy and received an MBA from Auburn University. He was a highly decorated Air Force pilot and veteran of the Vietnam War who achieved the rank of Colonel prior to his retirement after 28 years of service to his country. His distinguished career included teaching, serving as a contract executive and consulting to a variety of clients. The philosophy of life that he followed made him an inspiration to many.
To honor Bill's wishes, he was memorialized by close family members with a private celebration of his life.
