Ora Lea Gaines O’Donnell, born March 2, 1918, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010.
Ora Lea, a resident of the Windsor in Mandeville, formally of New Orleans, was born in Heflin, AL to the late Henry Grady Gaines and Myrtle Stamps Gaines. She volunteered at East Jefferson Hospital for many years, was an avid bowler and bridge player.
Beloved wife of the late Andrew Jerome O’Donnell, Jr., married in November of 1944. Mother of Terri (Rick) Burton, Paul O’Donnell, Ann Forshag, Nancy (Terrell) Smith and Dennis (Carol) O’Donnell. Survived by her twin sister Cora Lea Gaines Beason. Sister of the late Clarence Gaines. Sister-in-law of Madeline (Bob) Breeden. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 10:30AM. Visitation from 9:30 AM until service time.
A private interment will follow the mass in St. Vincent #1 Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Lighthouse for the Blind, 123 State St., New Orleans, LA 70118.
