Michael O'Shaughnessy's Obituary
Michael O’Shaughnessy born on February 24, 1935 entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 30, 2009.
Devoted husband and childhood sweetheart of Joycelyn Craig O’Shaughnessy. Father to six wonderful children, Cathy Tauzin (Wes), Peggy Godfrey (Rene’), Michael O’Shaughnessy (Donna), Patrick O’Shaughnessy (Tana), Julie Foster (Roy) and Stephen O’Shaughnessy, Sr. (Laura); brother of Pat Gantner, Eileen Drouant, Sheila Yeadon, J.M. Kenney and the late Terry O’Shaughnessy; grandfather of the world’s most wonderful grandchildren, Rachel Maurigi, Jeff Penton, Michael O’Shaughnessy, Rebecca Penton, Ryan Penton, Shannon Godfrey, Amy Berghman, Stephen O’Shaughnessy, Jr., Scott O’Shaughnessy, Sean O’Shaughnessy, Shane O’Shaughnessy and Connor O’Shaughnessy. Also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents Catherine Shannon and Michael Peter O’Shaughnessy and step-mother Mildred O’Shaughnessy.
Mr. O’Shaughnessy was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington for the past 22 years and was a graduate of Redemptorist High School class of 1953.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial services on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 with visitation on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. O’Shaughnessy may be made to The St. Tammany Humane Society.
