We have done quite a bit of work for Mr. KP over the years. He will remain in our hearts, as we have a great deal of respect for him. Always such a gentleman, kind, and sometimes all business. He was a character, and shall be missed.

My cousin, Kepler, was one of my heroes. When I was in grammar school in Port Arthur Kepler and his brother, Jackie, came for a visit. He saw a trigonometry book on my desk and asked me about it. That set off hours of discussing science and engineering. When he tired of his Gilbert chemistry set and his Gilbert microscope he gave them to me. The chemistry set introduced me to a world of molecules and the microscope opened up a iverse not visible to the naked eye. After graduate school we moved to Texas City and Kepler’s Company sent him to Houston. He moved his family to Spring and some weekends we would visit and eat stuffed crab that Tonette would get from some restaurant in LA. Sometimes they would visit us and we would take them sailing on Galveston Bay. I was impressed how quickly the children learned to steer the boat. Soon he had to move back to LA and we went about the business of work and raising our families. Another of my heroes has been taken from me. “Rage, Rage against the dying of the light.”

I have read all the wonderful things others have said about Kepler. He was gentle and made you feel that you had his attention. Our family appreciated all the times you visited our Mother "Aunt Nettie". She looked forward to seeing you and Kepler. Our family is truly sorry for your loss and send love to you and your children.

Tonette, Marty, John, Rene, and Andre, I am very sorry for your loss. I remember our visits to Jackson when you were living there so long ago. One thing that stands out to me about Kepler was his manner of speaking to me. I remember as a boy having a conversation with Kepler and thinking, "Here is a grown-up who knows how to talk to kids." He just had a way of making me feel like I was a grown up too, and I liked that. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish you only the best.
