Johnny was my first cousin he was 10 yrs. older so he taught me to Bass Fish,caught my first bass with him,first rabbit hunt,coon hunt with Johnny and Uncle Jewell,Johnny taught me to shoot a rifle ,and his Ruger Blackhawk . Johnny was a teacher ,he got pleasure in sharing the many talents that the Lord blessed him with.He also shared what he knew about God. Johnny will be missed by many!
Sweetie~ what can I say? How can I comfort you? It shakes me up to know that he was in such pain...and you as well. "I" know you're strong; always have been. When I saw you at the funeral, it tore my heart out. So much pain in your eyes. We HAVE to MAKE the time for each other again. GOD used Johnny, while he was here...he touched MANY! Including Jonie, and me....I tell people to always look DEEP into other people's EYES....we ALL have pain that we hide, supposedly...I am so sorry for your loss. I AM here, so is Mom...we LOVE you! My deepest condolences to you, the family of Johnny Dillon. Johnny and I were first cousins. When we were nine years old Johnny and Aunt Juanita lived with us for a while in Gadsden, Alabama. Johnny was named after my dad, James Neil Smith. Johnny was always a lot of fun to be with. He and my brother Wayne Smith were both terrors when they were young boys, especially when they were together. They were like fire and fuel! After moving to Florida we lost touch with Johnny but he will always be remembered and have a special place in our hearts.

I casually knew John during my time with the Madeville Fire Department. Although I did not have the opportunity to get to know John on a more personal level, he always displayed an aire of a very competent, yet humble, professional.
Rest in Peace, John.
John was and remains a strong influence on the lifes of so many men and women of law enforcement. I was honored to briefly serve with John and his dedication and leadership will always remain at the forefront of those of us who were fortunate to know and respect him. May God grant John eternal peace.
I had the great fortune of having Lt. Dillon as a range instructor. I will always remember his teachings, but will better remember his ways. He was just a good hearted Jesus loving man. If their were more like him, the world would be better. He is missed, but never forgotten.
I was so saddened to hear the news of Johns passing this morning. Bob certainly enjoyed working with John over the years and I have many fond memories from those times. I pray that your memories bring peace to the pain in your heart during this difficult time. May God Bless.
