The one that stands out the most I can’t post, but his memory will always live on. Time went by, I have a child of my own now. At my worst a darkest time I found out and I felt like I had purpose again. 9 months go by and my beautiful son is born. January 18, 2018.

The whole time I was thinking about Chris, and how I wish he could meet who would be his god son. I wanted him to see how far I had come and how proud he would have been, so for it to be a day apart I find unlikely to just be coincidence.

I try to be the best father I can be, what I imagined Chris would have been like and I treasure this kid with all my being. I tell him all about Chris. I know he’s there. He has to be.

By just being there.

I was a couple years younger, I had a sub par home life some of which he witnessed first hand.

He always looked out for me, made sure I knew I was always included. I’ve never felt valued by another person like that. He was like my big brother.

I remember the first time I met Chris and Andrew. They were riding Mr. Scott’s gas scooter in shady oaks. I was playing with my friend Dylan when they came by. We both asked if we could ride it and they said “no and the more you ask the less likely we are to let you”
I didnt ask one more time, Dylan on the other hand pestered them for 20 minutes straight.
Finally Chris said “okay Dylan here go ahead”
I said what the can I?
Chris replied “you asked to many times”

Next thing I know we realize our houses are behind one another. Within a matter of a week Chris and Andrew became my best friends.

I’ve never had another friendship quite like the one I had with Chris.

I’m so grateful to have had the honor and opportunity to experience that at least once in my life.

You all did a great job and raised great men.

My heart goes out to Mr. Lamar, Mrs. Ann, Mrs. Patricia, and Mr. Scott for the loss of Chris. Chris was an intelligent, loving, caring, and happy man that had put a mark on everyone's heart that he knew. Andrew tells me stories constantly about Chris and every time he brings tears to my eyes. I am so proud of the whole family for being strong throughout this tragic loss and I pray for y'all every day. Andrew and I know that Chris is our guardian angel and will look over us forever. We love you Christopher and miss you dearly!

I offer prayers and deep sympathy, though I wish I could offer more. I met Chris and Andrew just over 3 months ago, but I will never forget that incredible man. He made me feel welcome, brought everyone together, and never ceased to make everyone laugh. Whether he did it on purpose or not, Chris had a way of making everyone involved. He made me feel comfortable, involved, accepted. His love for his friends was obvious from the start. One thing was for sure, Chris REALLY loved life and never took a moment for granted. Thank you for sharing him with us. I know he's smiling and laughing at us from where he is now.

I am Liz Ehrhardt and I am also writing on behalf of Cheryl Robinson. Chris was our student in the fourth grade at St. Rita school in Harahan. We also had the pleasure of knowing and teaching his twin brother, Andrew.
I can't tell you how sorry we are to hear this news. Our prayers are with Andrew and all of the family during this very difficult time.
