Susan Ogden James Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Susan Ogden James passed away on July 26, 2022 at the age of 73. She was the beloved mother of Phillip (Sarah), Jimmie (Victoria), and Jason (Melissa), and Jeanene who predeceased her. Loving grandmother of Logan, Hudson, Jaycee, Jason Jr., Jace, and Gabriel. She was a sister to Garland C. Ogden and Phil B. Ogden, Jr. (Janice). Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie, and her parents, Phil B. Ogden, Sr. and Isabelle Cunningham Ogden. Susan graduated from Riverdale High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University. She spent time volunteering with Caritas working with educating children in the Covington area. Susan was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Ponchatoula, LA. She loved singing and painting, and if you were lucky, she gave you hand painted gifts. Following the death of her daughter, Jeanene, she spent the majority of her later years raising her grandson Gabriel until her health would no longer allow her to do so. Susan loved spending time with friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed cooking for everyone and telling stories of the old days. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Susan’s life on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 39731 S.
