Stanley was born in New Orleans, LA on May 29, 1942. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes in New Orleans, St. Paul's School in Covington, and Fortier High School. As a young boy, he played the clarinet, ran his paper routes, and worked numerous hours at Zibilich's, his family’s restaurant in New Orleans. After graduating from high school, he proudly served in the United States Army, obtaining the rank of E4, and was in charge of supplies for the Battalion Motor Pool. Stanley was a loving husband to Virginia, an impeccable father, and the ultimate family man who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a kind hearted, but strong-willed, genuine gentleman who was always ready to tackle whatever lay ahead of him, and always marched to his own beat. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, dirt bike riding, and dancing. In his later years, he became a classic car enthusiast. Being mechanically inclined and very gifted with his hands; he delighted in tinkering with classic cars and cruising around town passing the waterways of Madisonville and Mandeville. He enjoyed the ambience of sitting out by the Tchefuncte River and talking with passersby now and then. Stanley enjoyed participating in classic car shows and hitting the highways for classic car swaps from Louisville, Kentucky to Daytona Beach, Florida. Stanley, who is of Croatian descent, was actively involved with the Croatian Benevolent Association; as well as the Krewe of Argus Carnival Club in Metairie. Stanley truly lived his life to the fullest and was always looking for the next adventure. God called him home to Heaven to reunite with Virginia, the love of his life. He will truly be missed by many, but know his heart is full again. Stanley passed away on the exact date Virginia did nine years ago; a match made in Heaven! The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St. Tammany Hospital in taking care of Stanley and the kindness, sympathy and concern they exemplified as health care professionals.
