Roy S. Keenan Jr. passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Cecile Zebal Keenan for 23 years, and father of his much loved Puggle, Patsy Lynne. Loving step father of Kimberly Raley Dayries (Blaine). He is survived by his grandsons, Brendan Blaine Dayries and Brady Thomas Dayries. Roy is survived by his sister, Kathryn Page Morgan (Ben Jr.), and nieces, Kathryn Gaines (Greg) and Angela Thornton. He is also survived by his special cousin, Alvis (Bummie) Wilson. Roy is predeceased by his parents, Roy Sutherland Keenan, Sr. and Oral (Dottie) James Keenan. Roy (Esky) was born and raised in Algiers, LA. He attended Holy Name of Mary Elementary School, De La Salle High School and University of Southwestern Louisiana where he graduated with a degree in Marketing. He was an active member and alumni of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. He then was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam era. After the Army, he worked at Southern Pacific Railroad for a short period of time until he started working at Louisiana Department of Labor, became a Regional Manager and retired after 34 years. Roy enjoyed playing pool where he was known as “The Judge,” reading, walking on the Mandeville Lakefront, traveling, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Due to COVID-19, social distancing is encouraged and masks are required to attend services. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Hosanna Lutheran, 2480 US Hwy 190, Mandeville LA 70448 on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until service time.
