Rodolfo Reyes-Garcia

Rodolfo Reyes-Garcia age 88 of Abita Springs, entered eternal rest on Wednesday morning, February 23, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Taft, Texas on January 7, 1934 to Domingo Garcia Sr. and Francisca Reyes Garcia. He is survived by his beloved wife Severina Saldana` Garcia of 61 years. He was the loving father to Veronica Garcia Novak (Ken), Rudy Garcia (Kelly Adams), Joe Garcia (Barbara), and Reggie Garcia. He was the proud grandfather of Dawn Marie Novak, Alan Novak (Laura), Ashley Novak (Jade), Sara Novak, Tony Garcia (Ashleigh), Andrew, Victoria, and Noah Garcia, and devoted and proud great grandfather to Makenzie and Alyssa Novak, Blaze and Bowen Garcia. Rodolfo was the sibling of Domingo Garcia Jr. (Jacinta), Jose Guadalupe (Zulema), Tommie Garcia Dominguez, Enrique Garcia, and Sylvester Garcia (Alicia). He is also survived by his sister in laws Elvira Lopez (Rudy), Dora Delgado, Ethel Saldana`, JoAnn Saldana` (Rick), and Lucy Mendez (Mike). Rodolfo is preceded in death by his parents Domingo and Francisa Garcia, his grandson Cole Garcia, and brother in law Raul Dominguez. A native of Texas, longtime wonderful resident of Slidell and resident of Abita Springs for over 17 years, Rodolfo graduated from William Taft High School. After high school, he joined the United States Army, and proudly his country for from 2 years. After being honorably discharged, Rodolfo began his professional career as an Appraiser for HUD, and he also enjoyed being an Assistant Teacher in St. Tammany parish. Rodolfo was successful in his opening of Garcia Tex Mex Restaurants in Slidell. For many years Rodolfo volunteered proudly with great honor to Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Lourdes Slidell. He was devoted to his Catholic faith and was an active member to St. Jane de Chantal’s choir for many years. Rodolfo was a sweet and gentle man, who was often very quite. However, he enjoyed spending time indoors singing in his St. Jane de Chantal choir for many years. His true passion was spending time with his loving family. Rodolfo was unique, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
