Michael Trent Wood

August 17, 1953 - February 2, 2022

Michael Trent Wood passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the age of 68. He was born on August 17, 1953 in New Iberia, LA to the late Montestal Wood, Jr. of Crowne Point, Indiana and the late Vida Broussard Wood of New Iberia. Trent was the beloved husband of Kimberly Siegrist Wood. He was the loving father to Michael Trevor Wood (Kana), Mandé Warren (Joel), and Gregory Davis (Rebecca). He was the proud grandfather to Ellé Warren, Ava Warren, Aisley Davis, Marley Weinberger, Aubrey Davis, Liam Wood, and Leon Wood. He was the cousin of Madeline Ghandour (Suhail) and the brother-in-law of Michael Siegrist (Dale), Pat Siegrist (Libby), Lisa Siegrist, Lori Sampere (Ronnie), and Linda Mahfouz. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Trent was a graduate of Slidell High School. He furthered his education at Louisiana State University where he was a member of the Acacia Fraternity. Trent was an employee of Shell Oil Company for 28 years. Pop T, as his grandchildren affectionately called him, especially loved his time with his children and grandchildren, whether watching their sporting events, sharing in their milestones, or just relaxing during a family crawfish boil by the pool. Trent was an avid LSU fan and could often be heard cheering on his Tigers. He also loved cruising in his convertible, telling a good corny joke, and spending time with his adored dogs, Beaux and Luke. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM until service time. Interment will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA. E. J. Fielding Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
