Michael James King Sr.

October 2, 1948 - March 19, 2022

Michael James King Sr. age 73 of Abita Springs, entered eternal rest on Saturday morning, March 19, 2022 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 2, 1948 to John Sidney King and Amelia Emily Shield King. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeannette McEntee King of 52 years. He was the loving father to Michael King, Jr. (Melissa). He was the proud grandfather of Cade, Emily and Brilyn. Michael was the sibling of Kyes King. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, John and Amelia King; son Brian King; and brother, Johnny King. A native of New Orleans, longtime resident of Abita Springs for over 20 years, Michael graduated from Robwin High School. After high school, he proudly joined the United States Coast Guard. After being honorably discharged, Michael graduated from Delgado Community College; he began his professional career in Construction as a Superintendent for over 30 years. Michael was a loyal, caring, and most of all loving a person. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and doing woodwork. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family. Michael was unique, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
