For 20 years I have sat by James at Hospital Board meetings. I learned from him and laughed at his humor. We shared a birthday, but he loved to call me Aunt Sue. And to declare that the Cores and the Brunnings loved their cocktails. He, Susanne, and I shared years of good times as we traveled to conferences. In Nashville, on the strip, we stopped in every club with live music. In San Francisco, we rode the trolley cars and toured Alcatraz. At another memorable trip, he crashed a private party in the courtyard, and they loved him.
James was a special person and a special friend. I shall miss him.
