Henri Jean Champagne

Henri Jean Lamousin Champagne age 87 of Meridian, Mississippi entered eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday night, March 16, 2022 at Poplar Springs Nursing Center. She was born in Covington, Louisiana on March 11, 1935 to Henry Eli Lamousin and Odie Mills Lamousin. She was the loving mother to Jim Bailey (A.J.), Eva Shamp, and Michael Frosch (Joy), and was the proud grandmother of Gavin Bailey (Amanda), Billy Frosch (Stephany), Chrissie McGary (Kevin), Thomas Van Brewster, Randi Huntley (Russell), Brett Shamp (Paige), and Jena Brown (Caleb). She was also proud great grandmother to her loving 14 great grandchildren. Jean is preceded in death by her husbands William Frosch (1975) and Freddie Champagne (2009), and parents Henry and Odie Lamousin. A native of Covington, longtime resident of Mandeville and Meridian, Jean was devoted to her faith and her church Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacombe. She was a talented hairdresser for many years in St. Tammany Parish. Jean was loyal, kind and most of all a very loving person. She enjoyed spending time outdoors working in her yard. However, her true passion was spending time with her loving family. Jean was an example of strength, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana 70433 on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 11:00AM with visitation from 10:00AM until service time.
