David Michael Adkins, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the age of 83. He was born in Fayetteville, WV on February 24, 1938 to Jess Adkins and Bessie Smith Adkins. David was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force until retiring in 1977. After this, he worked many years as an X-Ray technician, until his retirement in 1998. David is survived by his children David Adkins, Jr. (Karen) and Jess Robert Adkins (Crystal); son-in-law, David FitzSimons; grandchildren, Lisa Sharp, Ashley Peasley, Christopher FitzSimons, Sherman FitzSimons, Brandon Adkins and Madison Stafford; and great-grandchildren, Jake and Jaxon Sharp, Ava, Braiden, and Marci Peasley, and Elyana Gray Stafford. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Crystal Gail Adkins (Tiffany), Gary Dale Adkins Jr., Zadin Adkins, Tamela Dunhurst, Tina Traylor, George Laverne, Charles Laverne; sister-in-law, Judy Adkins (wife of Gary, Sr.) David is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 62 years, Sina Fay Adkins; daughter, Belinda Ann FitzSimons; and brother, Gary Dale Adkins Sr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 1:00 PM with visitation Sunday beginning at 12:00 NOON.
