Charles "Jerry" McNeill Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Charles “Jerry” McNeill, age 71, entered eternal rest peacefully on the morning of Sunday June 26, 2022 at his home. He was born in South Bend, Indiana on March 19th, 1951 to Charles Edwards McNeill of East Liverpool, Ohio and Mary Ann O’Donnell of Sterling, Illinois. He was the loving husband of Runette “Rue” Scherer McNeill for 36 years. He is survived by his grieving children, Ryan McNeill (Stacie McNeill), Lauren McNeill, and Jennifer McNeill Fritscher (Barret Fritscher). He was the proud grandfather of Peyton and Blake McNeill. He is also survived by his brother Tom McNeill, his sister Ann Foley, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Denny and Jim McNeill. Jerry was a resident of Mandeville, La for over 34 years and graduated from St. Aloysius High School. After high school, he attended LSU and earned his bachelor’s degree on a full LSU swim team scholarship. With his hard dedication and persistence, he earned the opportunity to participate in the U.S. Olympic trials for the butterfly stroke. His tenacity prepared him for his success in medical sales (primarily orthopedic and spine devices) for over 40 years. He was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person and role model to all. He enjoyed spending his time creating home improvement projects for the family. In his extra time, he enjoyed refurbishing his classic car and throwing balls at the dog park with Sam. He was well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His unfiltered spirit and devotion to freedom of speech often landed him in Facebook jail. May his relentless comments forever live on in his most cherished friends and family until they meet him again. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at E.J.
