Carolyn "Kitten" Perkins

May 28, 1940 - June 4, 2022

Carolyn “Kitten” Perkins passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the age of 82. She was born on May 28, 1940 in New Orleans, LA to Kermit Wilder Perkins and Bertha Baudot Perkins. She is survived by her sister, Joan Marie Perkins; nephew, Billy Esquinance (Betty); great nephew, Christopher Kermit Esquinance (Emily); great niece, Jennifer Lynn E. Rhodes (Andrew); great great nieces, Abigail Marie Rhodes, Audrey Caroline Rhodes, and Ella Wilder Esquinance. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Shirley Perkins Esquinance (Emory). Carolyn lived in St. Louis, MO for many years and worked as an insurance marketing specialist for Daniel and Henry Insurance Company. She retired from the agency on May 14, 2004. She enjoyed traveling and dinner with her St. Louis friends and attending the New Orleans Saints and St. Louis Cardinals football games. Carolyn also followed the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Upon retiring in 2004, she moved back to her Mandeville Home. In her retirement, Kitten remained close with her St. Louis friends, Diane, who is now deceased, Patti and Steve. While here in Mandeville, she looked forward to her monthly luncheons with her Mandeville High School friends for what they called the “Lunch Bunch,” and cocktails. Kitten and Joan spent many weeks traveling around the United States. In Kitten’s later years, they looked forward to afternoon cocktail hour. Throughout her life she remained close to her dear friend, Anna. The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Lacombe Nursing Center for the care and compassion they showed Kitten for the last five months of her life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte Street Mandeville, LA 70448 on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
