Carl Raymond Vickers Jr.

Carl Raymond Vickers, Jr. passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022. He was born on November 18, 1937 in Pass Christian, MS to Carl Raymond Vickers, Sr. and Katherine Jane Northrop Vickers. Carl resided in Mandeville for the past 22 years. Carl is survived by his children Carl “Ray” Vickers, III; Kevin Vickers (Frances); Kathi Vickers LaCombe (Glen); Charlotte Vickers Samuel (Chris); grandchildren, Benjamin LaCombe, Jaques LaCombe, Evan LaCombe, Rebecca Samuel and Noah Samuel; and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Carl attended Warren Easton High School then transferred to Delgado where he received a trade in machinery. He worked for Buck Kreihs Marine Repair in New Orleans for several years. He returned to Delgado where he received an associate degree in business and later became an entrepreneur and owned several gas stations and automotive repair and body shops. He was a hard working family man who loved his children dearly. He always had a smile on his face. He loved helping the needy and never hesitated to help someone out. His hobbies included boating, traveling, dancing, exercising and loved music. He loved being on the Mississippi Gulf Coast every chance he had. He was loved by many. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at The Chapel at First Baptist Church Covington, 16054 Murphy Road, Covington, LA 70433, on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 12:00 Noon with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
