Antoinette Ann Bowers Gauthé passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the age of 75. Beloved wife of Clement Joseph Gauthé, Jr. Beloved mother of Edmond Robert Lacoste, Jr., Cherí Antoinette Lacoste Bourgeois (Kris) and stepson C. J. Gauthé. Antoinette is survived by her sisters, Rosalie B. Santos (Earl) and her twin, Harriet B. Drewes (Donald). Her beloved grandchildren, Emma Rae Bourgeois and Jacques Kris Bourgeois. Godmother of Dion Santos and Denise D. Castillo. She is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Antoinette was preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph Bowers and Frances Theresa Castagnetta Bowers; and her beloved sister, Frances Bowers Robinson. Antoinette was a beautiful soul, devoted mother, Grammy (Mimi), sister, aunt, nanny, and friend. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was the best mother a child could have. She was her daughter’s HERO. Antoinette was loving, caring, kind, compassionate, giving, loyal, funny and absolutely beautiful inside and out. She truly had a heart of gold. We were so blessed to have her in our lives. Antoinette will be missed immensely. There will always be a huge hole in our hearts. Antoinette loved her grandchildren more than anything, they were her WORLD. She loved spending time with her family. Antoinette enjoyed gardening, ceramics, bowling, tennis, going shopping, going out to dinner, going to the movies, going on vacation, playing games with her daughter and grandchildren. She also loved playing farkle with her twin Harriet. Antoinette was a great cook, everyone loved her baked macaroni. She also enjoyed going with her son to Yee’s, the waffle house and Hobby Lobby. Antoinette loved GOD, saying the rosary and going to church. She had a zest for life. She will be missed beyond measure, absolutely LOVED FOREVER AND EVER and NEVER FORGOTTON. Antoinette was employed as a State employee with the Louisiana National Guard, as an Accounts Payable Supervisor. She retired in 2004 with 33 years of dedicated service. Antoinette’s coworkers loved to call her “Bette” for Bette Midler because they thought she resembled her. They also called her “Bee” because she was the Queen Bee of the office. Antoinette was a classy, fancy woman loved by so many. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W 21st Avenue, Covington, LA. E. J. Fielding Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
