As one of the younger cousins, I wasn’t included in many of the outings of the “grown up” types…. But I still looked up to all of you and admired your swagger…THAT FLIP hairdo! Oh my! Nancy was all that and more, which is why she was the right choice to sponsor me for confirmation.
I suspect it was a bit of a chore, maybe a hardship, for a young lady at that time, but she never let on that I was a pain in her butt. Thank you for that, my dear cousin.
The years we spent Christmas Eve, all crowded into the bedroom you shared with Peggy…. Yeah, some of my fondest memories of my childhood. Both of you were kind and generous with your time and space, even with the smallest of us.
May your path to eternity be smooth, and all you meet along the way, be the best and kindest you ever knew, or wished to know…. I am certain you will now be in the embrace of the Lord forever more, along with Aunt Mary and Uncle Pete and all the others who have gone to their eternal reward.
Missing you always,
Brenda Usner Prater, and Jim
