Stephen W. Valley
I remember visiting you and always seeing a chainsaw in the bed of your truck.
I remember all the firewood we used to cut, split and stack for the winter.
I remember sitting with you in your kitchen listening to your stories over a cup of coffee.
I remember you raising critters, like pigs, only to find that you were hiding them from Miss Peggy and you whispering to me "we won't say anything about that".
I remember planting so many plants with you that I believed you were starting a nursery.
I remember learning from you that "Up the road apiece" could me Folsom or Canada.
I have so many wonderful memories of you I could not begin to list them all.
You and Miss Peggy had six beautiful children and I was lucky enough to marry one, Lisa.
You were a quiet man, whose family was first and foremost in your life (though cutting firewood may have been a close second).
I shall always remember you Old Man with great love and affection.
I won't tell you goodbye Mr. Lindsey, rather, I look forward to seeing you “Up the road apiece”.
I am eternally grateful to God for allowing me to have had Willow Lindsey Crawford Jr. in my life.
