Kay B. Aswad passed away on August 11, 2017 in Covington LA. He was the son of Kalil Charles Aswad and the former Pepilia “Peps” Schexnaydre and brother of Jean Aswad Hare, Alan and Roland Aswad. He was 88. A 1947 graduate of St. Read Obituary
Always such the perfect gentleman. He and Pat were so helpful to me after I lost my husband, Dennis shortly after Katrina. I had just downsized to a smaller home which turned out to be a total disaster and they helped sort out some of the electrical problems. They were absolutely wonderful and always so pleasant to be with. I also remember what
a snappy dresser Kay was. He always was dressed to the nines as Mass on Sundays. I know you all will miss him. He was a wonderful Dad and a devoted and loving husband. I will keep Kay and you all in my prayers. This is a great loss and prepare yourselves as you will never stop missing him. I know he is in heaven with all his brother knights!!!

I was sorry to hear about Kay better know as the Camel Jockey because he got Cleco's first big truck to haul things all over the state, so the was named after him. He is as well liked by everyone. R.I.P. Kay
I worked with Kay for half my career at Cleco and he was a great engineer and a great human being. It was so great seeing him last year at the Retiree Association fish fry out at Rodemacher. I remember he looked as good as ever! I was honored to learn of his service as a US Marine and to know that inlcuded Chosin was all news to me. Kay never bragged about anything (except maybe a word or two about how proud he was of his family) but I know a lot about the work he did to help build the Cleco system over his excellent career. It was all Gold Star quality! He was truly a Great American in so many more ways than I knew before. I am grateful for his life and sincerely grieved at the tremendous loss you are all experiencing.
