If I ever had a most unforgettable character in my lifetime, that would have been my brother-in-law John. In recent months, I had the time and opportunity to have him reminisce about his colorful past with me, and I told him that he really needed to write a book about so many of the stories and antics he involved himself in.
Since he didn’t feel comfortable writing some of those episodes, I asked him if he would like to audibly put his stories together. He laughed and said “maybe”. Oh, how I wished I had gotten that tape recorder sooner. Lost opportunity, on a lot of levels. Never anticipating that a man so much larger than life would be gone so quickly.
Until we meet again—love you much, John.
And try to behave!! But then again, that wouldn’t be you being you.
Once again, much love from one of your many in-laws,
Pat Pitre
