Mr. Hershel, you were a great father-in-law. You and Mrs. Janice instilled a great sense of family, love and pride in Laurie that I see everyday being her husband. I'm sure it wasn't easy to give away your girl to me, but I promised you then that I would protect her with my life and that has not changed. Rest easy knowing that Daddy's Girl will be well taken care of.
I am so happy that we got to take you to Gatlinburg twice in the past couple of months. I know Gatlinburg was your home away from home and you enjoyed being there so much. I know the first trip combined two of your favorite things in life - being in the mountains and watching Cole play baseball. You were so proud of him, the young man he is, the ball player he is and the man he will become. Cole will live his life making Paw Paw proud, I am sure of that.
I am sure you are again walking arm-in-arm with Mrs. Janice. I love you Big Guy and will miss you dearly.
