Wednesday evening ride July 2014. Thank you Fred for you have done to support cycling in our community.
Back in 1979-80, Fred, his friend Wes and I were roommates in College. Couldn't have asked for a better introduction to apartment life than having him as a trusted roommate and friend. What fun we had having spontaneous water balloon fights with our neighbors at the old Fountainbleau Apartments in Baton Rouge, instant parties, local road trips, football games, etc. Never a dull moment. He was a Dynamo, with so many interests and an absolute lust for life. And yep, who could forget that little dark blue Datsun?!
We bumped into each other at Moisant in N.O. back in 2004 - he hadn't changed a bit! We exchanged contact information, but never got around to getting together again. Now I really, really wish we had. The memories of him are still as strong, clear and positive as when we were all at LSU forty years ago. That says a lot about a good, good man. So sad about his passing.

So sad to hear this. We lived in Walnut Bend as well and Fred and my brother tinkered with cars alot and were friends. My condolences to his family.
I loved that Fred.
So kind, so much fun.
He would always go out of his way to help, or be with someone, and tell you it was on his way home. When you knew he was already home, or in some crazy other direction.
He knew the the true value of a hug, and never took any friendship for granted.
Every story was an adventure. I always found myself jealous that I didn't know him longer.
He made mine, and so many lives special.
I will always love and miss my dear, sweet friend.
I am blessed that I have Fred in my life. I said that last week, I will say it years from now.
