Armett William “Billy” Wascom, Jr. passed away peacefully on October 15, 2019 at the age of 75 after a long battle with cancer. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Wascom and one brother, Stephen Wascom. Read Obituary

Billy was my 10th grade Biology teacher at Covington High and years later he was working as my Dad's Supervisor in the Toll Test Center at BellSouth in Covington. He was a great teacher who made Biology understandable and fun. Dad liked him and respected him because he would be the first to admit if he didn't know (he joked about giving dad's number when he was on call because he said he would have to ask dad how or what to do). Billy and Brenda were longtime friends of mine. He was a great person and I admired him so much for his dedication to Brenda as she went through her years of illness. RIP, my friend.
Mr. Billy was actually one of the founding members of the Covington block party, taught me a lot about antique cars, and was a great customer for many years. He will be sadly missed . Craig Stonecypher
